Games I will not purchase & why

This list includes categories of games I will not purchase & why that decision was made; on Steam, this means any of these games are immediately added to my Ignore list if they fall under these categories (current count of individual games on Ignore list are listed on my Steam profile):

  • Any game with an OS requirement over Windows 7; clearly I am not going to purchase a game I can not run.
  • Any game that is ridiculously overpriced...
  • Any game that does not support the English language.
  • Any game that requires an XBOX gamepad for PC.
  • Any game that requires a VR headset.
  • Any game that focuses on male/male relationships/content.
  • Any game that mentions Hitler or Trump (some people may know the games I had the misfortune of running across that fall under this term, I won't go into further details about it)...
  • Any game that has any affiliation with Bandai/Namco in response to their attacks on my YouTube channel.
  • Any game from Black Shell Games; this comes in response to their dancing around providing keys for SanctuaryRPG for IndieGala bundle buyers & defacing my review on GOG after I went public about it.
  • Any game developed by Bungie, this comes in response to their lack of response to inquiries about keyboard/mouse support in the original Destiny & allowing those against this request to abuse those that were requesting it over their forums; this also means the entire Destiny series will also be getting blocked.
  • Any game by DigitalDNA, which comes as a result of their attacks on reviewers of their games.
  • Any game funded by Patreon or has Patreon login/contributor unlockables; this was decided after the creator victimization of 7/21/2021 & affects nearly every single adult game on Steam, including some games that are not adult.
  • Any game developed/published by Epic Games, exclusive to the Epic Games platform or developed using the Unreal Engine; this decision coming after the update in Fortnite that locked V-Bucks behind the Battle Royale mode, effectively stealing 4+ years of my live collecting V-Bucks for use in the Save the World mode from me.  This also effectively killed my interest in any game I already owned exclusive to the Epic Games platform.
  • Any game developed/published by Microsoft or XBOX; this comes after their decision to purge search results of my personal site & Twitch blog from the Bing search engine.
    • This also solidifies the decision not to purchase anything with an OS requirement over Windows 7, as I won't be putting any more money into their company, meaning it is unlikely I will be upgrading my OS over Windows 7 (unless the free upgrade for Windows 7 owners is still available when I need to reinstall my OS again).
    • Ironically, this also changed my decision of purchasing an XBOX system (after Sony's cutoffs on the PS3, mainly on their website & mobile app) if I purchase a new console system & will most likely be going back to Nintendo (being primarily a PlayStation customer since the N64 release, but remaining with Nintendo for handheld systems up to the GBA, up until I started becoming primarily a PC gamer somewhere between 2005-2010).
  • Any game published by Activision; this comes in response to the boycott against Blizzard as a result of re-victimization back in 2010 & the fact that any purchase of an Activision products would still have money going to Blizzard through their parent company.  Of course this originally started with Blizzard, so it goes without saying that Blizzard games would also be included in this boycott, just not relevant on other PC game platforms (maybe console platforms) as they don't sell on anything other than Battle.Net).
    • It's been stated that Activision it going to be acquired by Microsoft, so even if this acquisition does end the boycott that included Activision started under Blizzard, it is continued in the boycott against Microsoft.
  • Any game being sold over any PC gaming platform that states they are ending support on Windows 7.  This decision was made after Steam was updated & I noticed a red banner at the top that stated "Steam will stop running on Windows 7 in 238 days."  I'm currently looking into getting the free Windows 10 update for Windows 7 owners, but am having issues getting the update to start, so until I am able to solidify that I will be able to continue running what I own on Steam, I won't be making any more purchase of that platform (this includes any other PC gaming platform where I am unable to continue accessing what I already own).
  • Any game developed/published by Hello Games.  This comes from purchasing No Man's Sky while it was still supported on Windows 7, later only being available for play single player when it was updated, later no longer being runable on that OS.  This now applied to ALL games by this company until I am able to not only run No Man's Sky again, but also the remainder of game functions being accessible again.
  • Any game developed/published by The Fun Pimps.  This comes from 7 Days to Die (a game I was a higher tier contributor on when it was in KickStarter, before the game was even playable in early alpha stages) no longer being playable on Windows 7 (which I am still using until I can get the Windows 10 installer to work that my friend gave me).  Until I am unable to run the game again, ALL games by this company are being boycotted.
  • Any game developed/published by Brain Candy.  This comes from purchasing Fray on Steam when it was already abandonware (the servers had been shut down) & Steam refused a refund of it, never actually getting to play the game.  This resulted in a 1 year boycott against Steam where I would not purchase any new games from them, that was until somebody gifted me something where the full price of the game gifted (even through it was on sale at the time) was roughly what I got ripped off for on the purchase of this game.
  • Any game developed/published by Z2Live (formerly Madrona Games) or KingBattle Nations was purchased on Steam, shortly thereafter the game was acquired by Blizzard, which caused the PC version to get killed off & become non-functional, never getting a chance to play it before it was killed off.
  • Any game developed by Bugbear Entertainment, ZOOM Platform Media or Jordan Freeman Group or published by Strategy First.  This comes from FlatOut 1 & 2 currently not being playable if purchased from Steam.
  • Any game developed by Game Distillery or Published by Immanitas Entertainment.  This comes from never really getting to play Naval Warfare after being purchased on Steam; game audio loads, but video gives nothing but a black screen, making the game unplayable.
